Mavis is a ceramic artist, painter, poet, and creates in many forms.
She is inspired by nature.
She has woven baskets, restored furniture, and written a book of haiku that she is looking to publish.
Her artwork has appeared in numerous gallery shows in Connecticut and Florida.
Mavis Jan-Lai and her work, featured at the West Hartford Art league, CT Artists Womens Show.
The majority of her ceramic works are hand-built. She works with organic forms and glazes. She enjoys making works that look clearly made by hands, not machines.
