January 2019 through May 2019 Free Art Class for Kids Schedule...

For the last three years the Harrison Ranch Art Guild and its' members have volunteered to create and lead free art classes for children ages 6-12*** once a month, during the school year at the Rocky Bluff Library. This effort is sponsored by the Friends of the Rocky Bluff Library. Over the past few years, well over 620 seats have been filled in these classes. The goal of the Harrison Ranch Art Guild volunteer members is to inspire children to be more creative and learn about art in many forms.

The first year these classes were held focused on a wide range of crafts and art. The next two years promoted educating children about professional and famous artists and learning how to create in the mediums that the artists were known for.

The 2018-2019 series of art classes for kids will focus on how Art Can Be Anything! Attendees will get to try a wide range of mediums and see how art can be made from a wide range of materials.

*****Please note: the art class on Jan 24th is the only one where kids need to be age 9 and above. This is due to them working with glass. Participants will also need to pick up their finished glass pieces a week or two after the class, as a final step of firing the glass in a kiln needs to happen after the Jan 24th class.

Space is limited, so if you sign your child up please be sure they can attend or let the library know if they cannot for whatever reason and another child may be able to take their place. Call the Rocky Bluff Library at 941-723-4821 to reserve a space for your child.

The Harrison Ranch Arts Guild would like to thank the staff at the Rocky Bluff Library, the Friends of the Rocky Bluff Library, and the parents of the children who encourage their children to be creative. These classes are so much fun for all!
