Mavis Jan-Lai, Harrison Ranch Arts Guild (HRAG) member, was presented with an award from the Anna Maria Island Art League. The award was chosen by juror, James Pay, as part of the Annual James Pay Show. The juror mentioned her art to have a "strong sculptural form with free flowing and feeling glaze." Her work, entitled "flowing blue bowl" is stoneware that was fired at cone 10.
"I am so honored to be presented with an award," said Jan-Lai. "I'm thankful for the Anna Maria Island Art League for this opportunity. Such a nice group of talented people!"

HRAG Members Sally Wooldridge and Chi Kulig also have pieces in the show. Wooldridge has a beautiful still life watercolor painting and Kulig has a ceramic colonial farmer's flask in the gallery show.
The gallery show is open through the end of the month, and is located at the Anna Maria Island Art League Gallery, 5312 Holmes Blvd, Holmes Beach. Artwork can also be viewed during gallery hours Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 AM to 2 PM, now through February 25th.
This show is a part of the Holmes Beach Art District town-wide ArtWalk.
